We had an astounding 19 players join us for our second X-point monthly tournament, including a few new faces.
Given the enthusiasm, we will add it to the formats we play at our monthlies.
Lion Dib Bolt (LDB) was the preferred archetype, with most using the extra space freed up by the points system with a higher top- and bottom-end of the mana curve.
With 19 players and 4 rounds, there was a risk we’d end up with two 4-0s.
Paul (Merfolk), Lorenzo (LDB), and Patrick (Artifact Control) went into the last round as the 3-0s with Patrick on the pair-down.
Patrick loses the pair-down and Lorenzo beats Paul, finishing as the sole 4-0. Congratulations Lorenzo! Lorenzo demonstrates that he does not need to play The Deck to win the monthly.
